Thursday 23 February – Last Day in Sydney ðŸ˜”

One last early morning walk with ‘the girls’ – Luna and Piper – and to say goodbye to Michelle and Elly. The mornings are getting darker (all so upside down!) so the dogs had illuminated collars and we had torches! It looked as though the rain was going to continue, but in fact it was a beautiful morning, as the sun came up. The bird noise in the park at this time is quite deafening and the cockatoos were having a right ol’ barney while we were having coffee. Amanda and Michelle’s ‘male fan-club’ gradually joined us one by one, as a group of rosellas flew over and the lake sprang to life – I will miss it. It is the most incredible park and literally five minutes from Amanda’s little house.

I spent the rest of the morning sorting out my things and packing and then in the afternoon went for a last walk round and about.

Sydney is just the most wonderful city and the residential areas are so pretty and full of the most fabulous restaurants and shops – thank goodness, there is not a centimetre of room in my suitcase! The streets are wide and there are lots and lots of trees and nicely kept gardens. Where Amanda lives, in Woollahra, is particularly lovely with lots of individual house of different F&B like colours with verandas and balconies and the most lovely iron-work.

The CBD is also full of the most stunning architecture (my favourite Barangaroo – designed by WilkinsonEyre who designed the RBS Bridge of Aspiration in Floral Street) and then of course you have the beach! If there was to be another city in the world I could live in, it would unquestionably be here.
