On Sunday morning, I headed off to have coffee with Yasmine and Reece. It was just so lovely to see them and catch-up on all their news. It was also fascinating to hear how this gala had been for them. It is run by an incredibly young guy called Joel Burke aged 22/3 and this is his third! Amazing, but a few technical hitches like the floor in the Darling Harbour Theatre not being sprung (so dangerous for the dancers) and they have also just been told that the stage in Melbourne has a 5% rake! Luckily they went to a very good school and no toys are being thrown out of prams. They are incredible and just hope they will be ok.

I could have happily talked with them for the rest of the day, but dragged myself away in order to take a ferry to Manly.

I met the most charming Australian couple on the boat whose 10 year old son had trained with the Chelsea Academy and they lived in Battersea. I almost went off with them but had a plan to meet some friends of Lucinda’s who were here. Jamie, Miranda and Hamish Landale were incredibly nice and we had a really jolly lunch on Manly Beach. Hamish is on his Gap Year and working on a farm in Queensland. Jamie was at Cirencester with Tim and had shot at Hilldrop. Miranda is a great walking and cycling friend of Lucinda’s so needless to say we found plenty to talk about. Jamie and I went for a walk along the beach while Hamish went off with his mum to buy a pair of budgie smugglers in the budgie smuggler shop!
