Today was a travelling day as we drove from Russell back to Auckland and on to Piopio where we are now staying with lovely Rachel (Bather) and Denzil Anselmi. A long ol’ drive, virtually half the country, but very beautiful and fortunately without interruption from any policemen. So lovely to see Rachel who I am not sure I have seen since the day I left School – but as always with NFL, you just start off as if it was yesterday. She and Denzil live on the top of a hill with the most ridiculously stunning view over their farm. She has the prettiest garden and Denzil farms a huge amount of land with his father and and as of a few months ago, their son, Nick; which we are very much looking forward to seeing tomorrow.
