Wednesday 19 October – Day 1 in Paradise

My goodness it rained hard last night and it was all a little overcast when we got up. I feared I had bought the weather from Rio with me, but luckily it cleared to reveal the most beautiful day. The house is even more lovely in the daylight – all wood, most of it locally sourced with white and cream furniture, making endless different areas you can go and hide out with your book. I have so far only scratched the surface.

Analida’s beautiful house

We eventually headed back and somehow the staff knew we were coming and were there with glasses and champagne cork poised. This was followed by another delicious lunch and then Analida and I went for a walk to the left where we perhaps saw a few more people, but not many. This must be as near to paradise as you can get and I fear could be very bad for me. I am not sure there is going to be much time for blogging!

We went for a walk along the beach first to the right where we passed about five houses and not many more people in a couple of hours or so. The sea is blissfully warm and crystal clear, though as I discovered, with quite a current.

Crowded beach – those are our footprints!
