EC-Rider Travels

I guess this adventure is going to involve a lot of ‘firsts’ and the first of these you are sharing with me as I write. I am having my very first dinner (in fact I think probably meal) on my own! I have only done quite well so far, coming to the restaurant without my wallet!

I am also toasting my mother, as I partake in my second ‘first’ (I think) which is a pisco sour ….. omg! how good are they? I have to confess I am not in the most salubrious of restaurants as I have not got further than the airport hotel! But, I have made the difficult choice between fish, meat or ‘bird’! and thought I better start Peruvian and have ceviche – seriously delicious.

Things are going to get more interesting from here, I promise, but just to say, I have safely arrived in Peru after a pretty painless flight courtesy of Avianca Airlines. Ten hours to Bogotá, three hours in Bogotá airport (at 3am) – amazing shops, luckily mostly closed, and then on to Lima. Happy day in the airport hotel catching up on all the admin I failed to complete before I left and hopefully early bed. Early start tomorrow as I head into the Amazon rainforest to see the illusive giant otters … they better be there! I fear they may not live amongst much Wi-Fi so I may not be able to tell you about them (or not!) for a few days. Until then ……
